Il Padre nostro nel Purgatorio dantesco

En la paráfrasis de la oratio dominica (Purgatorio XI) Dante especifica que la expresión «che sei nei cieli» no significa que Dios está circunscrito, sino que es amado esencialmente en los cielos porque los ángeles lo aman más que los hombres. En realidad, según la teología católica, dios no está circunscrito y la palabra «cieli» debe ser entendida sólo en sentido simbólico. En la segunda cántica el poeta no se ha liberado aún de las
referencias al espacio físico. Solamente en el Paraíso, y particularmente en el Empíreo, se libera de cualquier referencia a la materialidad del espacio y se refiere sólo a la dimensión espiritual.

In a paraphrase of oratio dominica (Purgatorio XI) Dante specifies that the expression «who art in heaven» does not mean that God is limited, but that He is loved more in heaven, because the angels love him than the men do.
In truth, according to catholic theology, God is not limited and the word «heaven» must be unterstood only in a symbolic sense. In the second «cantica» the poete has not yet been realised from the reference to the
fisical space. Only in Paradise, namely in empyrean, he is free from all the references to the materiality of space and refers only to spiritual dimension.
